Today was Mayor Daley's Kids and Kites Festival. It was a beautiful day and Patrick was able to fly a kite for the first time!

Fun Weekend at Home

I can't believe it has almost been two months since our last post. I guess we have been busy, especially now that we have a walking toddler! This weekend we were home and thought it would be fun to walk along Navy Pier and go to the beach. Can you believe we haven't been to Navy Pier all summer!

Month of FUN!

We've been busy busy busy since Patrick's birthday enjoying the summer. The weekend of his birthday we moved (again only a few blocks away). Then we went up to Michigan for a week of sun and fun over the 4th of July. Patrick loved swimming even though it was a bit chilly. He did okay with the fireworks too as long as they were at a distance. We took Patrick to his first drive-in movie with Keegan, Mackenzie, and Aunt Kellie. Drive-ins are great family fun. I don't know why they ever got rid of them. It was the first movie Charlie and I have seen in almost a year! We had a great time grilling out, relaxing on the boat, shopping, and visiting.

Then we had a 1st Birthday Party at Grandma and Grandpa C's for Nora and Patrick. It was great to see everyone! They got so many fun presents! Everyone was very generous. Charlie thought it would be fun to sleep out in the tent so he set it up in the front yard (Patrick's first camping trip). We didn't make it through the night, it got a bit chilly, but Patrick thought it was fun.

This weekend we had some friends from Tech visit for the weekend. Lucas is almost exactly 6-months younger than Patrick. We went to the aquarium and walked along the lake to the zoo. It was great to finally get the boys together. I know they will be great friends growing up. Here are a few pictures from the last couple of weeks.

Patrick's First Birthday

Finally the update from the big day! It started off by Charlie and I signing the papers for the sale of our condo (sad to leave Patrick's first home), but then went to have his 12-Month photos taken. Mackenzie and Grandma and Grandpa C were in the City to help celebrate. We had a great day, Patrick enjoyed his cake, as you can see by the pictures...and we ended the day with a swim in the pool at our new apartment.

Torch Lake - Northern Michigan

Patrick is on the east shore of Torch Lake enjoying the sandy beach and the sunset. We have enjoyed introducing Patrick to the summer fun in Northern Michigan. Birthday pictures are on their way!

11-Months Old-Where has the time gone!

Patrick turned 11-months on Tuesday! It has gone by so quickly. I can't believe I need to start planning his 1st birthday party!

He is definitely VERY mobile, just not walking on his own yet. Tonight he figured out that his highchair will work just as well as any other push toy to help him walk across the floor. It was pretty funny to watch, too bad no video.

He is also having fun feeding himself (or actually just making a mess by flinging food everywhere). I am watching him mash avocados and banannas into his highchair tray.

We had a great time at Wisconsin Dells, meeting Ellie for the first time and seeing Claire and Liam again. I think the kids will grow up being great pals. Too bad we don't all live closer, but the Dells are a great place to meet.

We're headed to Michigan for the holiday weekend. If it was a little warmer maybe Patrick could try swimming in the LAKE! I think that will have to wait another month or two. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Here are a few more pictures from the Dells.
